HMD Global partnering with Kathmandu Kings 11

HMD Global, Home of Nokia Phones has announced that it will be the official smartphone partner of Kathmandu Kings XI (KKXI) in Nepal’s domestic T20 competition Everest Premier League (EPL).

The fourth edition of the competition was scheduled to take place last year, but due to the epidemic of Covid 19, it will be held from 9 September to 23 September. Designed in Finland, Nokia brand licensee HMD Global plans to bring consumers together and benefit KKXI for marketing initiatives to build its brand in the country.

World famous cricketer Shahid Afridi and Nepal’s superstar Sandeep Lamichhane will play together in the same team for KKXI. Six teams including Bhairahawa Gladiators, Biratnagar Warriors, Chitwan Tigers, Kathmandu Kings 11, Lalitpur Patriots and Pokhara Rhinos will participate in the competition. The list of players also includes international players like Shahid Afridi, Ryan Pathan, Oshada Fernando, Richard Levy, Sikuge Prasanna.

EPL 2021 is starting from 9th September and the first match of KKXI is scheduled to be played with Lalitpur Patriots on the opening day. All the games will be played at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.
